Can a wife sponsor her husband in the UAE?

Yes, and it is more common than it used to be, but it is not assessed identically to a husband sponsoring a wife. A woman sponsoring her husband is generally expected to meet salary conditions, and the profession recorded on her own residence permit carries weight in how the application is read. It is settled case by case rather than by a simple rule.

It is not simply the reverse case

Women ask us this expecting the same rules with the names swapped, and that is not how it is read. Salary conditions apply, and the profession printed on the sponsor own residence permit carries real weight in the assessment.

The marriage certificate, again

Attested, translated where needed, and carrying names that match both passports. A certificate issued in India, Pakistan or the Philippines runs through the chain in that country before it is usable here.

It is the same document asked for at every family step afterwards, so do it once and keep the original safe.

Accommodation and the tenancy

A registered tenancy contract is normally part of this, and an informal or shared arrangement usually is not enough. Where the flat is registered to the husband, who is the one being sponsored, that needs sorting out first.

It sounds like a technicality. It stops applications.
