How do you get an Emirates ID for a newborn?

The birth certificate is obtained first, then a passport from the child country mission in the UAE, then the residence visa sponsored by a parent. The Emirates ID application follows and the card is issued with the visa. There is a defined period for completing registration after birth.

Why does the order matter?

Because each document is evidence for the next. The passport application needs the birth certificate; the visa needs the passport; the Emirates ID follows the visa. Skipping ahead is not possible, only delayed.

The mistake we see most: Waiting until the parents feel settled before starting. The clock runs from birth, not from when life calms down, and the passport step depends on a foreign mission whose speed nobody controls. Start the birth certificate in the first week.
