Saudi Work Visa from Dubai

The Saudi employer files the visa. Your job is the paperwork behind it, and the attested degree certificate is what decides whether you start in October or February.

How does a Saudi work visa work if you are in Dubai?

Your employer in Saudi Arabia sponsors it and files it there; you supply the documents the application depends on. From Dubai that means an attested degree certificate, police clearance, translations where required, and a UAE residence visa cancelled properly rather than allowed to lapse. The document chain is the slow part and it sits with you.

Attestation is the timeline

Everything else on this page takes days. Attestation takes weeks, sometimes longer, because the chain begins in the country that issued your certificate and runs through offices you cannot walk into from Dubai.

If you are reading this with a signed offer and a thirty-day notice period, start today.

  • The chain starts in the issuing country
  • UAE legalisation follows, then the Saudi side
  • Courier time between stages is real time
  • Begin on the day you accept, not the week you leave

Closing the UAE properly

Cancel the residence visa through your current employer and close the labour file. Letting it lapse leaves an overstay record and unresolved obligations that surface when you next deal with a UAE authority, and people do come back.

It is a week of admin that saves a genuinely difficult conversation later.

  • Residence visa cancelled through the current sponsor
  • Labour file closed rather than abandoned
  • Traffic and other fines settled before departure
  • Bank facilities and telecom accounts closed cleanly

Translations and the document set

Certificates that are not in Arabic frequently need certified translation as part of the legalisation chain, and the translation has to be done by someone whose work will be accepted rather than whoever is cheapest.

We do legal translation in-house, which is usually why this ends up being one job rather than four.

  • Certified Arabic translation where required
  • Translation accepted as part of the chain
  • Police clearance certificate arranged in parallel
  • Photographs to the employer's stated specification

What we do not do

We do not file your Saudi work visa. That sits with your employer inside the Kingdom, and no agent in Dubai can do it on their behalf, whatever they tell you.

What we do is make sure that when their PRO asks for your file, it is already complete.

  • The employer files; we prepare
  • Attestation, translation and clearance handled end to end
  • UAE cancellation coordinated with your current sponsor
  • A complete set handed over, not a pile of receipts

How we handle a Saudi work move

  1. Get the employer's listIn writing. It drives everything else.
  2. Start attestation immediatelyThe longest item goes first.
  3. Police clearance in parallelNot after, alongside.
  4. TranslationsCertified, where the chain requires them.
  5. UAE cancellationCoordinated with your current employer.
  6. HandoverA complete legalised set for your Saudi employer.

The mistake we see most: Waiting for the employer to ask before starting attestation. By the time their PRO requests the certificate you have already lost the weeks the chain needs, and the start date slips through no fault of yours.
MSM tip: Ask whether your employer needs the certificate legalised for a professional licence as well as the visa. Regulated professions carry an extra verification step, and finding that out late costs another month.

What documents do you need?

What we need

Passport copy, photo page
Emirates ID and current UAE residence permit
Original degree or qualification certificates
The country each certificate was issued in
Your employer's written document list, if you have it
Your profession, and whether it is a regulated one

Where the certificates were issued sets the attestation route, and whether your profession is regulated sets whether there is an extra verification step. Both in the first message, please.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you apply for my Saudi work visa?
No. Your employer inside the Kingdom sponsors and files it, and no Dubai agent can do that for them. We prepare the documents the application rests on.
Why does my degree need attesting?
Saudi Arabia verifies qualifications through a legalisation chain rather than accepting a photocopy. It starts in the country that issued the certificate.
How long does the whole thing take?
The attestation chain sets the pace and varies by issuing country. It is measured in weeks, which is why it starts on day one rather than after the employer asks.
Do I need an Arabic translation?
Frequently, yes, and it has to be a certified translation that will be accepted as part of the chain. We handle it in-house alongside the attestation.
Must I cancel my UAE visa?
Properly, through your current employer. Letting it lapse creates an overstay record and unresolved obligations that surface if you ever return.
My profession is regulated. Does that change things?
Usually yes. Licensed professions carry an extra verification step beyond the visa file, and it is much cheaper to discover that at the start.
