How do Indian nationals in Dubai apply for a Saudi visa?

Through the Kingdom's visa channels, applying from the UAE on the strength of a valid residence permit rather than travelling back to India. The route depends on the purpose of the trip, and the document set for Indian passport holders often involves certificates attested through the Indian chain. Both are settled before the application is filed.

You can apply from here, not from India

This is the question we are asked most, and the answer is generally yes. A valid UAE residence permit lets you make the application from Dubai rather than flying home to do it, which is the whole reason people ask.

The permit has to be genuinely current though. Mid-renewal does not count.

Indian documents and the attestation chain

Where the trip needs certificates behind it, and work travel always does, an Indian-issued degree or civil document runs through a chain that begins in India. It cannot be started from a counter in Dubai, and it is the reason a work move takes weeks rather than days.

The mistake we see most: Assuming a Saudi work move can be arranged inside a notice period. For an Indian passport holder the certificate chain starts in India, and no amount of paying extra in Dubai shortens the part that happens there.
MSM tip: If your degree was issued in India and you think you may ever work in the Gulf outside the UAE, get it attested now while you have time. An attested certificate sitting in a drawer is worth a month when an offer arrives.
