How do you cancel a Dubai visit visa?

Cancellation is requested through the issuing authority or the sponsor who applied, and the outcome depends on whether the visitor has travelled. An unused visa is treated differently from one already used to enter. The important step is confirming the visa shows as cancelled rather than assuming the request completed it.

Why cancel at all if the trip did not happen?

Because the visa exists on a record attached to the sponsor, and an open entry there can complicate the next application. Sponsors who have quietly accumulated two or three unused visas often discover it at the least convenient moment.

Does it matter whether the visitor travelled?

Substantially. A visa never used to enter is a straightforward cancellation. One already used means the person entered the country, and the position then depends on whether they have departed and whether the stay is still running.

Where someone has left early, confirming the departure is recorded correctly is as important as the cancellation itself.

What if the visitor overstayed?

How do you know it actually worked?

By checking the recorded status afterwards, not by trusting a submission receipt. A request that has been made is not the same as a status that has changed, and the difference only becomes visible when something else goes wrong months later.

The mistake we see most: Assuming an unused visa simply expires and disappears. It stays on the record attached to the sponsor, and the next time that sponsor applies for someone the open entry causes questions. It takes minutes to close and considerably longer to explain.
