Do you actually need to go?
Frequently not. A great many residency transactions can be submitted through an authorised channel with the documents rather than the person, and the applicant only attends where biometrics or a signature genuinely require it.
People queue for things that could have been submitted for them, which is the single most avoidable cost in this whole area.
- Many transactions submitted without attendance
- Biometrics and some signatures require the person
- Documents can usually be submitted on your behalf
- Ask before booking a morning off work
