UAE Job Seeker Visa

You can enter the UAE to look for a job without anybody sponsoring you. That is a genuinely recent idea and a lot of people still do not believe it.

What is the UAE job seeker visa?

An entry permit that lets you come to the UAE to look for work without an employer, a host or a sponsor behind you. It is offered in 60, 90 and 120-day options, and is aimed at graduates in the skill levels the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation classifies as one, two or three. Applications go through GDRFA in Dubai or ICP Smart Services federally.

What makes it different

Every other route in requires somebody on this side: an employer, a family member, a hotel booking behind a tourist visa. This one does not. You come on your own account, for the express purpose of finding work, and you are not pretending it is a holiday.

That honesty matters at the border, and it matters if a recruiter asks what you are here on.

  • No employer or family sponsor needed
  • The stated purpose is job-seeking, not tourism
  • You are here legitimately while you look
  • It converts to employment residence if you succeed

Choosing 60, 90 or 120 days

Longer costs more, and a hiring process here routinely takes longer than people from other markets expect. Offer to start date can run to two months on its own once the work permit and residence steps are counted.

If you are coming without a strong lead already in hand, the shortest option is usually false economy.

  • Recruitment cycles here are slower than most expect
  • Offer to start date is weeks on its own
  • The shortest window suits people with live interviews booked
  • Running out mid-process is the expensive outcome

Who it is aimed at

Graduates in the skill bands MoHRE classifies as one, two or three, which broadly covers managerial, professional and technical work. Applicants are expected to be over 18 and to show they can support themselves for the stay.

It is not a general entry route, and it is not a substitute for a visit visa if what you actually want is a holiday.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent expected
  • MoHRE skill levels one to three
  • Over 18, with evidence of funds
  • Passport validity comfortably beyond entry

What happens when you get the job

The employer files a work permit and you move onto employment residence, which may be possible from inside the country depending on your nationality and status. That status change is a service in itself and we handle it.

Plan for it. The job offer is the middle of the process rather than the end.

  • The employer files the work permit
  • A status change may avoid leaving the country
  • Medical, Emirates ID and stamping still follow
  • Budget time for it inside your window

  3. Prepare the fileDegree, financial evidence, passport.

Which duration suits you

Situation and window
Your situationSensible window
Interviews already booked, strong leads60 days
Some contacts, no firm interviews90 days
Starting cold in a new market120 days
Expecting an offer to convert in-countryAllow for the conversion inside the window
Only wanting a holidayA visit visa, not this
The mistake we see most: Taking the shortest window to save money and then watching it expire during a notice-and-onboarding process that was always going to take longer. The cheaper permit becomes the more expensive one the moment you have to leave and come back.
MSM tip: Get your degree attested before you fly rather than after you land. Employers here ask for it at offer stage, and doing the attestation chain from Dubai while your permit is counting down is the worst possible time to start it.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I come to the UAE to look for a job without a sponsor?
Yes. The job seeker route exists precisely for that, and no employer, host or family sponsor is required.
How long can I stay?
It is offered in 60, 90 and 120-day options. Which suits depends on how advanced your search already is.
Who is eligible?
It is aimed at graduates in the skill bands MoHRE classifies as one, two or three, over 18, with evidence of funds for the stay.
Can I convert it if I get a job?
Yes, the employer files a work permit and you move onto employment residence, potentially without leaving the country depending on your nationality.
Should I get my degree attested first?
Yes, before you fly. Employers ask at offer stage, and running the attestation chain against a counting-down permit is the worst way to do it.
Is it cheaper than a visit visa?
That is the wrong comparison. A visit visa is for visiting; this lets you be here to work-hunt legitimately, and it converts cleanly when you succeed.
