Why do some activities take far longer than others?
Because regulated activities bring an approving body with them. Adding a general trading line is one thing; adding an activity that touches health, education, finance or food safety means a separate authority has to approve before the licensing body will amend anything.
That approval is the timeline. The amendment filing itself is usually the quick part.
- Unregulated additions are typically straightforward
- Regulated activities require external approval first
- Health, education, finance and food are common examples
- The approval sets the timeline, not the filing
